HPD Smash-and-grab suspect found hiding in refrigerator in east Houston

Two men were arrested Thursday after they reportedly robbed a convenience store in east Houston.

The two men, Eric Dewayne Williams and Christopher Rashad Theall, were both apprehended and will face burglary charges.

The police arrived on the scene after an automatic alarm alert to find one of the doors to the Chevron gas station had been smashed in and a suspect fleeing from the scene.

Deputies gave chase to the suspect but lost sight of him until the K-9 units arrived to assist in the search.

One of the suspects was found hiding in a fridge of a nearby homeowner. The other suspect was apprehended waiting in a Ford Escape about a block from the scene.

The perpetrators had cut the power to the building but the security cameras were on a separate power supply that caught the whole scene on tape.

Currently, the police are looking for evidence that links the two to other crimes in the area.
