Lufkin Man Has Been Arrested 47 Times

A Lufkin man is back in jail after he was arrested for the 47th time.

Law enforcement officers in Angelina County in east Texas arrested John Richard Burch, Sr., 51, on Wednesday. He appeared before a judge the following day and pleaded guilty to a charge of resisting arrest. He is currently being held on $1,500 bond.

According to local news media, Burch was first arrested in 1994 on a public intoxication allegation. After his initial brush with the law, Burch was charged with resisting arrest four days later.

In the years since, Burch faced an array of misdemeanor and felony charges.

Officials in Angelina County disclosed that Burch has been ineligible for probation since 2010.
